    Description

This great Chinese Republic Period vigorously carved round three legged stand or table probably dates to the first quarter of the 20th c.  It is 11.5" tall and is 8,5" in diameter.  It is a great melding of Chinese and European disign with three carved cabriole legs with knees carved with Qilin faces sprouting acanthus leaves and trifid feet.  The aprons are also heavily carved with leaves, berries and swirling clouds.  The top is outlined with a carved beaded border.  The piece is very compact and heavy for its size.  It is in good antique condition with reglued joints and a few minor chips and repairs.  The top has a couple of neatly repaired splits.
