  • Condition: As is typical with many of the antique Chinese pieces, where applicable some of the hardware may have been replaced. There is general wear, and may be some shrinkage and age cracks that is typical for a piece this old, especially considering the climate difference. We feel these flaws add to the character of the piece and are preferable to replacement during restoration, Sometimes it is necessary to repair or replace certain components of the furniture, but that is typically done with antique wood. We try to be as clear as possible in the photos attached, however we are limited in the number of photos we can include, so it may not be possible to show every detail.     Antique Chinese Asian 50" 2 drawer Red Brown Table
    This Red & brown 2 drawer table has a flush panel top with a nice shaped edge detail. The top overhangs each end.
    Under the top are 2 drawers, with 3 fixed panels below the drawers. Each of the panels and drawer fronts have intricate relief carvings of floral and leaf designs. It appears that during restoration the drawers have either been rebuilt, or the top 2 panels were originally fixed and converted to drawer fronts. The framework around the drawers and panels is tapered on each side coming to a slight point at the center. The edges have a small flat detail.
    There is a bottom to the table, so the space below the drawers can be used as hidden storage.
    The legs are rounded on the outside edges edges and more square on the inside. Inside each leg is a nice carved apron. On the outside of the legs, under the top, is a carved spandrel. As seen in the photos the right spandrel has a small piece of the carving missing on the end.
    The sides of the table have flat recessed panels with simpler split aprons inside the legs.
    The back of the table also has recessed panels that match the layout of the front. There are also carved spandrels similar to the front.
    This piece could be converted to be used as a vanity. Due to the simple legs, they could easily be trimmed down to make the table height lower.
    This table was finished in a reddish / brown lacquer, much of it worn leaving a beautiful patina. The top is mostly a warm brown color. The front carvings have some accent colors added.
